With three full-length discs included, it may seem surprising that this set of 79 pieces for solo recorder represents merely "selected works" from the complete set called Der Fluyten Lust-Hof (The Flute's Garden of Delights), but so it is -- there are pieces in all, and the whole set would require seven or 7/

Apr 27,  · Der Fluyten Lust-hof is a very extensive collection of about melodies, each with a number of diminutions or variations, for solo soprano recorder. The themes include folk songs, dance tunes, church works, Psalms, and songs of the day.

On this release, young Dutch recorder player Erik Bosgraaf tackles a selection of 65 works from Van Eyck’s opus. Playing on (copies of) period instruments he treats this music freely almost suggesting improvisation on the spot. A truly outstanding recording debut by a musician who has already left his mark on recorder performance.

Jacob van Eyck was blind flute player and composer from the XVIIth century. Don't be mistaken - also was the great painter Jan van Eyck. When you are listening to the music of Jacob van Eyck - you are remembering Flemish/Netherlandish paintings of that epoch.
