Phil "Flip" Sloan and Steve Barri were the Fantastic Baggys. They were best known for singing background for Jan and Dean, but they also recorded an album of their own. The first 11 tracks on this CD were the album. It is similar to a Jan and Dean album, but of course with different lead vocalists. All of the songs are about surfing/5(3).

Along with the entire Tell 'Em I'm Surfin' LP, this CD adds a heap o' extras: the non-LP single "Debbie Be True"/"Anywhere the Girls Are," a couple of songs that showed up on a South African LP, the non-LP single "It Was I," and nine alternate/instrumental/vocal overdub/variations versions, most of them previously unreleased. "Debbie Be True," complete with "Don't Worry Baby 9/

The Fantastic Baggys were a LA studio project by PF Sloan and Steve Barri. The duo recorded one album for Imperial in Tell 'em I'm surfin', as well as three singles. Although there were four Fantastic Baggys pictured on the album cover of Tell em' .

The Fantastic Bagggys, despite what you might gather from the photo on their CD cover, were just two studio musicians named Phil Sloan and Steve Barri. On top of that, The Fantastic Baggys made only two live appearances: opening for Jan & Dean to an audience who went wild for them, and once on Lloyd Thaxton's TV show/5(15).

The Fantastic Baggys were an American surf and hot rod group, created by P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri. The studio group released several unsuccessful singles. They released one album internationally, Tell 'Em I'm Surfin' () on Imperial Records, and several singles and albums only in South Africa, where they proved to be briefly popular. They provided Jan and Dean with several songs to record.
